Design Optimization of an Integrated E-Type Multilink Suspension Wheel-Side Drive System and Improvement of Vehicle Ride Comfort

Distributed-drive electric vehicles constitute an important research direction for the future development of vehicles. In this regard, integrated suspension wheel-side drive system has considerable potential because it can address lack driving smoothness and grounding deterioration caused by excessive unsprung mass distributed-drive system. However, a complete systematic description design such is not available in literature. Therefore, paper proposes process E-type multilink method to improve vehicle ride comfort. Based on configuration analysis using orientation feature set method, ADAMS platform was used optimize hard point coordinates with as object, spring stiffness damper were designed considering vehicle. The bushing stiffnesses determined through tests, feasibility each installation via elastic kinematic simulation system; then, optimization carried out smoothness. Then, lightweight gears’ reducer performed. Finally, specific structural strength verification key components conducted. results indicated that component met requirements. Thus, overall improved. This study therefore serve reference comfort improvement systems suspensions.
